The head of the unrecognized Transnistria says that Tiraspoltransgaz wrote a letter to Moldovagaz on Saturday and guaranteed payment for gas. Vadim Krasnoselsky’s statement is quoted by local media. “Now fulfil your promise,” Vadim Krasnoselsky said at a meeting of the operational headquarters on the energy crisis, recalling that earlier President Sandu had said that Chisinau would let gas through only under these conditions. “Everyone is trying to profit the maximum of the gas problem. They are looking for conspiracies. There is no conspiracy, there is cold in people’s homes,” Krasnoselsky said. He added that after Transnistria found a gas supplier with a license in Moldova, there was “fierce resistance” from Chisinau. “The demand for supply through Moldovagaz has been accepted. Tiraspol is waiting for Chisinau’s response,” Krasnoselsky concluded. Earlier, President Sandu responded to Tiraspol leader Vadim Krasnoselsky, who asked her to “keep her word and not hinder gas supplies to the Transnistrian region”. “Chisinau does not and has never opposed the supply of natural gas to the left bank of the Dniester on the existing legal conditions. On the contrary, the Chisinau authorities have offered and continue to offer all possibilities to achieve this as soon as possible. Mr Krasnoselsky’s statements represent a serious distortion of reality. It is well known that the only company entitled to supply natural gas to the Transnistrian region is Moldovagaz, whose controlling stake belongs to Gazprom. The source of the crisis is not in Chisinau, but in Moscow, which should offer real solutions to this problem,” the President’s Office said.
