A press conference was held at which the leaders of the political formations signed the agreement. The leaders of the parties National Alternative Movement (MAN), Party of Development and Consolidation of Moldova (PDCM), Collective Action Party Civic Congress and former presidential candidate Alexandr Stoianoglo today held a press conference at which they signed an agreement on the creation of the political bloc Alternativa, noi.md reports. “The hope expressed at the previous conference that this bloc would become a center of attraction for the country’s deserving people is turning into reality. We thank all those who have shown willingness to join forces, realizing that the country is in a difficult situation and it is our shared responsibility to change it,” Ion Chicu said. The political bloc Alternativa aims to respond to the main challenges facing the Republic of Moldova in a historical period marked by significant geopolitical and regional changes. According to the politicians, the consolidation of the Moldovan society becomes an absolute priority. “By joining forces, our society can overcome internal political divisions, conflicts and economic degradation. Only by uniting around national goals can we strengthen a functioning democratic system, rule of law and social justice,” the agreement says. Ion Ceban stressed that “Moldova currently lacks a clear vision of the country’s modernization and changes are urgently needed”. “The political parties of the movement National Alternative, the Party of Development and Consolidation of Moldova, the Party of Collective Action Civic Congress and Mr Alexandr Stoianoglo and his team, the candidate who received the support of more than 750 thousand citizens of the Republic of Moldova in the presidential elections, sign an agreement on the creation of a political bloc. We are oriented towards: - Strengthening mutual coordination in the adoption and promotion of the most important projects in the field of state, socio-economic and humanitarian development; - Strengthening the joint development of a common policy for a peaceful and final solution of the Transnistrian issue; - Strengthening mutual coordination in drafting responsible neutrality and international guarantees for the security of the Republic of Moldova; - Coordination of joint efforts to protect the democratic and social rights of citizens, including the right to free elections; - Organizing political events and joint information platforms; - Discuss and nominate common candidates for future elections according to the principles and criteria agreed by consensus,” the agreement said. We recall that on 31 January 2025, at another press conference, the political bloc Alternativa was officially announced. At the time, politicians said the bloc would be governed by general consensus and public consultation. The bloc would be open to new members and the electoral agenda would be announced as it progressed.
