Octavian Iachimovschi stated that he is confident of passing the integrity check and will participate again after Veronica Dragalin’s resignation.
Octavian Iachimovschi will run again for the position of the head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office (APO). He said this on the air of the Cutia Neagră PLUS programme on TV8, noi.md reports.
Iachimovschi expressed confidence that he would pass the ethical and financial integrity filter.
“I will pass the check. I know myself, I don’t see any reason that I won’t pass the integrity procedure,” Iachimovschi said.
It should be noted that Octavian Iachimovschi intended to become the head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office in 2022 as well. Back then, Veronica Dragalin won the contest, while Iachimovschi came second. He also ran for the post of prosecutor general in 2024 and scored the highest number of points. However, the contest was cancelled after members of the Superior Council of Prosecutors (SCP) found a “significant discrepancy” in the scores.
Recall that on 20 March, the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office initiated a contest to select a new head of the APO after the resignation of Veronica Dragalin.
