The MP reported about it in social networks. Stamate wrote that she had carefully analyzed all actions related to the amnesty bill, including the amendments, which were part of a separate legislative process agreed in detail with the Ministry of Justice. The MP believes that all her actions were in line with the law and were carried out in full transparency. “I have a clear conscience about myself, the law and the values I believe in. I sincerely regret the emotional impact this situation has had on my family and extend my full support to my loved ones who have been through a difficult time. At the same time, I also regret the way some institutional and political reactions unfolded, including from some colleagues in the party. I trusted the team I was part of and I am sorry to be in such a situation,” Olesea Stamate wrote. The MP said the situation is “the result of a number of overlapping factors and perceptions, and in this context it has become a target within wider interests”. “I am ready to provide full explanations, documents and relevant information regarding my work - all in the spirit of transparency and public accountability. Given the decision of the PAS leadership to expel me from the party and the way institutional relations have developed in recent days, I announce my withdrawal from the PAS parliamentary faction. I will continue my work as an independent deputy, respecting the mandate entrusted to me by the citizens and in full compliance with the principles of the rule of law,” Stamate concluded.
