Moldovan citizens abroad will again be able to vote by post - now for the parliamentary elections on 28 September 2025. Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu said that the system tested at the presidential election and referendum in 2024 will be preserved and adapted to the upcoming vote, moldova1.md reports. “Voting by post will be retained - this is a conscious decision,” said Igor Grosu. He said the authorities will adhere to “the law adopted for the previous elections” and the details will be adjusted depending on the geography and operation of postal systems in each country. According to Pavel Postica, deputy chair of the Central Election Commission, the institution recommended “continuing the partial implementation of voting by mail in the same countries, with a possible slight expansion.” The final decision on expanding the geography of voting will be made by the parliament. Voting by mail was first tested in the presidential election and constitutional referendum on 20 October 2024. The pilot list of countries then included the United States, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland.
