Former PAS MP Olesea Stamate criticized the political tactics used by her former party colleagues to justify their failures and mistakes by blaming the war in Ukraine.
Stamate stated that she has never agreed with such an approach, although she acknowledges that in certain sectors the conflict has had ‘negative consequences’ for the Republic of Moldova, according to ziua.md.
“Obviously, this war has negative consequences for the Republic of Moldova from several perspectives, but the fact that politicians are exploiting certain public fears is not a good thing.”
This is not the first time it has happened in the Republic of Moldova; it is a tactic used in various contexts and in other countries as well.
“I don’t like this way of doing things, and I believe that the citizens are the fairest judges — they will deliver their verdict at the elections on whether this tactic or method was good and appropriate, or whether they will blame the government for justifying certain failures with the war at the border every time or too often,” said Olesea Stamate during a broadcast on Cinema 1.
The former PAS MP also criticizes the political messaging that the ruling party has begun to promote ahead of the elections. Stamate views PAS’s statements as divisive, conveying the message that any support for another political force would lead to stagnation in the Republic of Moldova and halt the process of European integration.
