Representatives of the Ministry of Defense announced during a meeting of the Parliamentary Commission on National Security, Defense, and Public Order that women who complete military department training will be able to be enrolled in the army reserve on a voluntary basis.
According to officials, students will no longer begin military department training in their first year of studies. Participation in such programs will be possible starting from the second or third year of university, realitatea.md reports.
In addition, after completing military department training, graduates will no longer be awarded the rank of sergeant. Instead, they will receive the status of soldier, according to Ministry of Defense representatives.
Military departments in educational institutions will be placed under continuous monitoring. Officials also stated that students will no longer have to pay for specialized military training, as the costs are expected to be covered by the state starting in 2030.
