The President of Ukraine requested the Cabinet of Ministers to create an interagency coordinating body to file a lawsuit against Russia to compensate for losses caused by the occupation of Donbas and the annexation of Crimea. As Poroshenko wrote on his Facebook page that as a result of Russia’s aggression infrastructure, enterprises and economic potential of the Donbas and Crimea were destroyed. “Therefore, we should not hesitate even for a minute making a Ukraine’s consolidated claim to Russia to compensate for the damage inflicted. I have requested the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to take measures for the speedy creation of a respective interagency coordinating body”, wrote the President. He stated that this body is stipulated by the law on reintegration of Donbas, which was adopted in January this year, which “clearly confirms Ukraine’s commitment to a peaceful settlement and reflects my ideology of peaceful reintegration of the occupied region”.
