Berlin is Ready to Be a Mediator in the Karabakh Conflict

During the visit to Azerbaijan, Merkel recalled that Berlin is part of the OSCE Minsk Group, aiming to resolve a conflict between Baku and Yerevan. In Baku German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that Berlin could help mediate between Azerbaijan and Armenia to resolve a long-running territorial dispute over Nagorno-Karabakh. “Germany wants to help find peaceful solutions”, said Merkel. As News.am informs, during the press conference in Yerevan Merkel noted that “We are ready to take responsibility for the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. You know that Germany is a member of the OSCE Minsk group, and we said that it would be good to resolve the conflict, but it is important to solve the problems in a good atmosphere”. Source: DW
