Bolton: America is Interested in Gas Extraction in Ukraine

The issue of energy independence from the Russian Federation should be discussed at the level of the policy of the Ukrainian state, he stressed. U.S. and foreign energy companies are interested in the extraction of natural gas in Ukraine, said U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton at the meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman in Kyiv. “There are also resources, which are produced here in Ukraine where natural gas is extracted, as far as I understand, in volumes sufficient to meet Ukraine’s own domestic needs for natural gas. Perhaps, American companies or other foreign energy companies will be interested in exploring and producing gas in Ukraine”, said Bolton. According to Bolton, he had “a very interesting discussion” with Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman regarding energy resources and Ukraine’s role in this area.
