U.S. sanctions imposed against Russia in connection with the case of Salisbury poisoning of former Russian intelligence agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia came into force. The Department of State announced new restrictive measures in early August. Sanctions will be introduced in two stages. The first package involves a ban on weapons sale to Russia, as well as dual-use goods and technologies. Washington plans to introduce the second one in a few months, if Moscow does not provide a guarantee of non-use of chemical and biological weapons. These sanctions will result in reduction of the diplomatic relations level and tight restrictions on exports and imports. Source: Kommersant
