Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan supported the implementation of specific measures for the autonomous status of Gagauzia within Moldova. Erdogan made this statement during his two-day official visit to Moldova, ria.ru reports. “Since 1994 (when the law on special legal status of Gagauzia was adopted in Moldova), I am happy to see that Moldova and Gagauzia began to live together in peace. Gagauzia makes the relations between Turkey and Moldova more important. We agreed with the Moldovan President and the head of Gagauzia on the need to take concrete steps on the effectiveness of Gagauz autonomy. Turkey, as before, will support the Gagauz. We want to see Gagauzia developing together with Moldova”, said Erdogan, speaking at a joint press conference with Moldovan President Igor Dodon and the head of the Gagauz autonomy Irina Vlah. Erdogan added that the territorial integrity of Moldova is particularly significant for Turkey. Source: Point.md
