Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis urged not to sign the United Nations migration agreement. During his speech in the lower house of the Czech parliament, the prime minister suggested following the example of Hungary and Austria. Earlier these countries refused to participate in the UN pact. The Czech government will discuss the document next week. In September, Czech Interior Minister Jan Hamacek supported the UN document, which is a declaration of intent and is not binding. The UN plans to adopt the “pact regulating global migration” in December 2018 at a conference in Morocco. It contains a number of non-binding measures. In particular, the document proposes to issue documents to refugees, in case of their absence, as well as to ensure the access of migrants to social assistance. Source: svoboda.org
