The European Union gives importance to the organization of free, fair and transparent elections in Moldova, said  High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini at a joint news conference with Romanian Foreign Affairs Minister Teodor Melescanu moldpres.md reports. According to the AGERPRES news agency, she stressed that not only the European Union, but also the partner organizations, such as the Council of Europe and OSCE, attach absolute significance to the organization of free, correct and transparent polls. “We constantly discuss this issue with our partners, not only from the Eastern Europe, but from everywhere in the world. I will not go further with the discussions on politics in Moldova. We have а golden rule, especially when it comes to the Eastern Partnership, to consider everything about countries, their population and their institutions. It is not EU’s business to say something on the political agenda or on the political parties from the countries-members, but as to the rules of the game, we surely have something to say”, Mogherini said. She specified that the rules of the game in Moldova must be 100 per cent transparent, of trust and observe the democracy and EU has ways of monitoring this process along with the partner organizations.
