Viktor Kryzhanovsky believes that Russia hinders the normal development of the Transnistrian region. The Russian Federation is not interested in the final settlement of the Transnistrian conflict and will take all possible measures to delay this process, Ukraine’s Special Representative for Transnistrian conflict settlement Viktor Kryzhanovsky said,  Radio Moldova reports. “In fact, there is no progress in the political settlement of the protracted conflict. It is important for Russia to maintain a hotbed of danger and sharpness in this region”, the diplomat said at Kyiv Security Forum. According to Viktor Kryzhanovsky, maintaining this focus, Russia prevents the normal development of the region. “It is obvious that the Russian side is not interested iin somebody’s development faster and better than Russia’s because this would be to the detriment of the Russian Federation”, Victor Kryzhanovsky noticed. He added that Ukraine was doing everything possible to resolve the situation, including through the creation of joint checkpoints on the Moldovan-Ukrainian state border, thereby blocking the illegal trafficking of drugs and weapons.
