The Russian government banned the export of Russian oil and petroleum products to Ukraine, stated Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev during government session on April 18, speaking about Moscow's response to the sanctions imposed by Kiyv, reports TASS. “There is a ban on the export of Russian oil and petroleum products to Ukraine”, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers said. Medvedev also reported on the expansion of the ban on the import of some Ukrainian goods. “We ban the import into Russia of Ukrainian engineering, light and metalworking products, which in the past year amounted to almost $250 million”, – said the Chairman of the Russian government. The Head of the Cabinet said that some Russian goods can be exported to Ukraine only after a special permit. The Ukrainian authorities announced another expansion of trade sanctions against Russia on April, 10. Ukraine bans import of meat, fish, milk, cheese, bakery products, tea, coffee, cigarettes and other goods from Russia. In response Russia banned the import of meat, milk, vegetables, fruits, nuts, fish and other products from Ukraine, as well as introduced trade duties on Ukrainian goods. Newsmaker
