Volodymyr Zelensky and his team are trying to complete the Donbass process, which the predecessors began, or to show its impracticability in order to move to other alternatives, said Vadym Prystaiko. Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko on October 7 for the ICTV channel said that he sees three ways for the development of the situation in the Donbass. “Three options can be made. I can see at least three. (First) try to come to an agreement within the framework of the unjust process that we entered many years ago (Minsk agreements - ed.). The second tactic is to drag on indefinitely, until they kill our soldiers, until the people on the other side of the contact line finally hate us, and we can never return them. Or the third way is never to return to this part of Ukraine”, the Foreign Minister noted. According to him, at the moment, President Volodymyr Zelensky and his team are trying to complete the process to end the war and return the uncontrolled territories of Donbass to Ukraine, which was launched several years ago in Minsk, or to show its futility in order to move to other courses of action. “Now President Zelensky and the whole team are still trying to complete what their predecessors began, starting with Minsk agreements. If we understand and see that Putin will never do anything, and our partners can no longer force him to make progress in this direction, then we will have to honestly tell all citizens of Ukraine that we can no longer perform this course, and no one can help us”, Prystaiko emphasized. As the minister noted, in this case, the authorities need to go to track number two, and so on, “until we understand that we have exhausted all our positions.” “Then we need to drop everything, strengthen our army and wait for the next attack,” the Foreign Minister said. Prystaiko explained, specifying a possible track number two, that if the Minsk process is not carried out, “does not allow us to start forward, does not allow us to develop as a country,” then we need to appeal to the world community that Ukraine needs a “peacekeeping mission”, he said. “Until now, this idea has not found understanding, despite the fact that the previous president (Petro Poroshenko - ed.) and anyone else spoke about this a lot. The world community is not ready for this peacekeeping contingent to be more correct, to help us restore at least a situation where no one kills people on our land,” Prystaiko explained. “The third track will probably be when we can’t do anything at all, and we will have to go according to the “Cyprus-like scenario” or some other way,” the minister summed up.
