Alexander Lukashenko believes that Ukraine, to some extent, gave a handle to the outbreak of war in the Donbass.

The President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that Ukraine gave a handle to the conflict in the Donbass, he stated within his interview to Echo Moskvy radio. "Ukraine, to some extent exposed itself. They began suppressing Russians, the Russian Language and so on - well, questions that should not have been arisen in Ukraine! Anyway, I am not justifying Russia now, no. I am not reproaching Ukraine. But one way or another, Ukraine gave a handle to this clash, even if a small one”, he said. Also, the Belarusian President believes that the annexed Crimea is "de facto Russian, it is not legally registered," and the Ukrainians "did not defend this land." In the course of this interview, Lukashenko said that it would be better if Ukraine pursued the same course as after the collapse of the USSR. Recall, Lukashenko said that Russia raises prices every year and "tightens the screws" in regards to Belarus.
