Moldova's current leadership should continue reforms such as justice, the theft of a billion investigation, and the fight against corruption. This statement was made by Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova Peter Michalko on the air of the Dimisiunea Diplomatică program on Moldova 1 public TV channel. The European official welcomed the intention of the current government to implement the Association Agreement with the European Union, trm.md reports. “The need for reforms has not disappeared after the Maia Sandu government was dismissed. There are still expectations for reform processes to be continued, the priority of which is the reform of justice, which should be comprehensive because, ultimately, the Moldovan citizens should enjoy a reliable, fair and independent justice that will treat people equally. There are other reforms and important actions initiated six months ago, which should be carried on. First of all, the fight against corruption,” the EU Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova Peter Michalko said. The head of the EU Delegation in our country asserts that the European Union will continue financial support for development projects in our country. “More than a thousand projects in many areas have been launched throughout the country: from supporting the overall agriculture up to individual agricultural producers, supporting small and medium businesses, repairing schools, kindergartens and other public facilities, energy efficiency and water supply projects. All these projects are designed to improve people's lives,” Michalko added. According to the 2014-2020 budget, the European Union, in the framework of bilateral programs only, offers the Republic of Moldova from 610 to 740 million Euros, as non-refundable amounts. In addition, many tens of millions arrive through regional programs for the Eastern Partnership, for the Danube countries and the Black Sea countries. Point
