The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) voted to return the full authority of the Russian delegation on January 29. 96 delegates voted in favor, 44 against, seven abstained. Similarly, opinions were divided in the Moldovan delegation - two deputies voted for Russia's return to PACE, one against, and the fourth one abstained. Thus, deputies from the Party of Socialists (PSRM) Vlad Batrîncea and Gaik Vartanean supported the majority and voted to return the credentials of the Russian delegation. Mihai Popșoi the member of Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) voted against while Andrian Candu, the member of Democratic Party (PDM) abstained from voting. Another member of the delegation from the Platform Dignity and Truth Party, Liviu Vovk, did not participate in the vote, because at that moment he was not in the PACE meeting room, Mihai Popșoi said to NM agency. The resolution adopted by PACE provoked a protest from the delegations of Ukraine, Georgia, Poland, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. The Ukrainian delegation announced its intention to leave the organization and left the meeting room. Recall that Russia was deprived of authority in PACE in April 2014 due to the situation around Crimea and the events in Ukraine.
