The obvious conflict between the DA Platform and the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) is natural,” DA Secretary General Ion Terguta says.

During the Monday debate about nominating candidates for future elections, he said that these parties “completed the full electoral cycle, making the way from the presidential (in 2016) to local elections (in 2020),” and now the time has come “to review their own interests and tasks, as well as relations with each other,” infotag.md reports.

“It’s too early to say how our relations will develop in the days ahead. But, with regard to the elections in Hincesti, the DA Platform didn’t nominate its own candidate, designating only him (Mihai Druta - Infotag.md), and proposed its colleagues to support him. But the PAS decided to go with its candidate,” Terguta recalled.

Given this situation, he “considers Grigore Cobzac (who runs as an independent candidate – Infotag.md) as an ACUM candidate in Hincesti, since he participated in the elections on February 24, and, of course, should run this time as well.”

In turn, the PAS deputy Virgiliu Paslariuc noted that “attempts to discuss this issue with colleagues have been made," but the “answer from them” was not received.

“Of course, it would be good to use the old formula of last year’s elections, but the problem was that Mr. Cobzac didn’t want to run all along,” he said.

Expert Igor Botan called the parliamentary elections in Hincesti, slated for March 15, “an excellent training ground for parties before the presidential election in the fall of 2020,” following which each party will be able to gain necessary experience and learn lessons.
