President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin said that prior to considering the candidacy of Mikhail Mishustin for the post of prime minister of Russia, he was offered four candidates. He said this in an interview with TASS for the “20 Questions to Vladimir Putin” project, excerpts from which were published on February 20. The head of state pointed out he was guided by “personal and business qualities of Mikhail Vladimirovich,” which he noted, given the results of Mishustin’s work as ex-head of the Federal Tax Service (FTS). Putin stressed that the prime minister in his previous position proved to be “a good practitioner and an honest person who achieves a concrete result.” The President of Russia generally praised the work of the tax department under Mikhail Mishustin, calling the work of the federal structure organized. On January 15, Dmitry Medvedev, who served as prime minister, reported to the head of state on the decision of the full cabinet to resign. He was succeeded in this post by the former head of the Federal Tax Service Mikhail Mishustin. On January 21, the Russian President signed decrees on a new cabinet formation. Andrey Vandenko’s special project “20 Questions to Vladimir Putin” was created to summarize the interim results of the president’s 20-year term at his post. The film episodes will be released four times a week from February 20 to March 25. On March 26, to honor the anniversary of the head of state’s coming to power, a full version of the film-interview will be shown.
