The PAS and DA Platform factions are indignant with the parliamentary majority reluctance (PSRM and PDM) to include in the agenda of the Thursday meeting a declaration honoring the events of March 2, 1992 (the outbreak of the armed conflict on the Nistru). Only 39 deputies of the 92 those present supported the initiative, infotag.md reports. The PAS faction chairman Igor Grosu said at a briefing that the parliamentary majority showed “disrespect for the warriors and the dead.” Member of the DA Platform, Chiril Motpan, read out the text of the document, where, in particular, the opinion was expressed that “the settlement process is possible with a comprehensive approach, with the prerequisite for the Tiraspol regime to recognize that the territory temporarily not under Chisinau’s control is an integral part of the Republic of Moldova”. “The parliament will not tolerate systematic violations of human rights and freedoms on the left bank, especially against Moldovan citizens. The parliament does not accept unilateral concessions in negotiations under the pretext of solving the problems of ordinary citizens. The parliament also guarantees refraining from using force during the process of dismantling illegal regime structures and the demilitarization of the region,” the declaration reads. The DA Platform MP Igor Munteanu expressed regret that “the majority of the deputies of the so-called ruling coalition decided to ignore the document, demonstrating disrespectful attitude towards those who fought for the independence of the Republic of Moldova.”
