Volodymyr Zelensky had a telephone conversation with Polish President Andrzej Duda because of the coronavirus. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a telephone conversation with his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda, the President’s Office reported on Wednesday, March 18. The main topic of discussion was the coordination of efforts to prevent negative consequences for citizens of the two states due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the world. The head of the Ukrainian state informed about the measures taken by Ukraine in order to preserve people's health. Zelensky also thanked Duda for providing free assistance in Polish medical institutions to Ukrainian citizens with confirmed COVID-19. In response to the Ukrainian state head’s appeal Duda assured that the Polish side will do everything necessary so that all Ukrainian citizens can freely return to their homeland both in transit from Western European countries through Poland and from Poland itself. For this, both railway and air transport will be used. The parties agreed to continue keep contacts at the highest level. Earlier it was reported that Ukrainians are to be taken out from Poland by Intercity trains. Two flights will be carried out - March 19 or 20. There is no exact date yet, it depends on the Poland consent.
