The leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova, former Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Pavel Filip, claims that the country’s authorities must stop today all investment projects. Moreover, he clarifies that all financial resources should be directed to citizens' incomes and support of business environment, small and medium enterprises, ipn.md reports. According to Pavel Filip, the country’s leadership should think about measures in terms of increasing unemployment, financial flows and remittances reduction, and the world as a whole will move very slowly. “Colleagues from the Ministry of Economy have already created a working group, there are three main elements: the National Bank, the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Finance, which are thinking about these post-crisis measures, but which need to be taken today. This crisis for the Republic of Moldova can be considered as an opportunity. After this crisis, many countries will start from scratch. Things that move slowly during normal times can move very fast during a crisis,” Pavel Filip said during the “Puterea a Patra” broadcast on N4 TV channel. The former prime minister claims that as a result of overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic, which will provoke an economic crisis, the countries will be isolated, and the Republic of Moldova should take measures to stimulate domestic production and maintain export volumes. “These post-crisis measures should be considered through a macroeconomic prism and monetary-credit policy, they cannot be considered separately. We observe that the National Bank is moving well, the government is trying to synchronize in terms of monetary policy, the Republic of Moldova has every chance to cope well with the situation. As for macroeconomic measures, I think that isolation of all the countries will follow. We will have citizens returning home, and in order to prevent an increase in unemployment, we must take measures to stimulate domestic production. We must also do everything possible to maintain the level of export, the one that was in Moldova. Of course, stimulating areas that will bring jobs, areas of the future, areas of IT,” Pavel Filip said.
