In addition to the support provided to the healthcare system the Romanian delegation arrived in Chisinau with critical messages. Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu said that the Republic of Moldova needs reforms and certain changes for the country to further European integration, changes that unfortunately, are absent in recent months, agora.md wrote. “The natural place of the Republic of Moldova is within the great European family. This, from the point of view of Romania, is the only viable formula for a prosperous future. Romania will continue to support the Republic of Moldova in its efforts for European integration but it needs reforms and concrete developments, which, unfortunately, we have not seen in recent months. Reform needs to be intensified and democratic principles and the rule of law fully respected. The support of Romania and the European Union will continue to be strictly conditioned,” Bogdan Aurescu said. The head of the Moldovan Foreign Ministry, Oleg Tsulea, noted that he confirms his interest in achieving the goals set in the joint declaration on strategic partnership for European integration. “We reaffirmed Chisinau’s firm determination to continue implementing the reform program, including in such sensitive and important areas as justice reform and the fight against corruption,” Oleg Tsulea added. Recall that ten years have passed since the strategic partnership agreement with Romania signing. In this regard, Prime Minister Ion Chicu said the government will make efforts to deepen this partnership. Romania, on the other hand, issued a critical message, noting that "recent events in Chisinau do not guarantee the European path for the Republic of Moldova."
