Andrian Candu and Vladimir Cebotaru, members of the parliamentary group of Pro Moldova, met with Oleg Vasnetsov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova. As Pro Moldova reported, officials discussed signing, negotiating conditions and some conflicting provisions included in the loan agreement with the Russian Federation. Andrian Candu thanked the Russian Federation for the intention to lend money to the Republic of Moldova during this difficult period and noted that the Moldovan government’s lack of coordinated answers to some deputies’ questions caused reasonable suspicions regarding this document and caused a request to the Government of the Russian Federation, previously sent to Pro Moldova. On behalf of the Russian Federation Government, the Russian Federation Ambassador Oleg Vasnetsov informed the parliamentary group Pro Moldova on details and procedures of negotiations, on the team, on delegation of authority, etc. The parties also exchanged views on measures taken to combat the pandemic, the socio-political and economic situation in the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation. Recall that on April 27, the chairman of the Pro Moldova parliamentary group, Andrian Candu, sent a letter to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin, and the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova, Oleg Vasnetsov, requesting information provision on the way loan agreement negotiations were conducted with the Russian Federation.
