The leader of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), Maia Sandu, believes that after the current government resigns, opposition deputies should elect a new, more effective government. PAS is ready to agree on a joint voting for a vote of no confidence and the election of a new government with the Democratic Party (PDM) and the Pro Moldova parliamentary group. This Sandu said on May 13 during the Politica program on TV8. “Yes, we believe that the government should resign because it is not managing, unfortunately. On the other hand, we must put forward a vote of no confidence when we are confident that we can elect a better government. If we can agree with the deputies of the current parliament to create a good government, then everything will be resolved much faster. The first question is for the Democratic Party, which today supports the current government. If they agree to support another government, not the government of Dodon, and for the sake of the Dodon campaign, obviously this attempt makes sense. Math does not work without PDM,” Sandu said. She stated that PAS would not discuss and collaborate with the Shor party. However, in order to get the necessary number of votes for voting in the parliament, according to Sandu, PAS will have to negotiate with the Pro Moldova parliamentary group. “We have a difficult choice. On the other hand, if we leave this government as it is, the situation will worsen. But if we find a formula with those we like or dislike, only on the condition that the government will be much better, that is, a government that will include honest people,” Sandu said. According to Sandu, there are many candidates for the post of prime minister of the new government, which cannot be said in relation to other members of the government. “Few people will want to lead, for example, the health care system, where it will be necessary to correct all the damage that was caused to the system due to government's irresponsible attitude, and stop the crisis with the spread of the virus. Few people will want to assume the post of Minister of Finance, who will have to urgently seek money to pay salaries and support agriculture,” Sandu said. Sandu is inclined to think that after the current government resigns, most likely there will be no early elections. “It is difficult to talk about early elections during the crisis. On the other hand, before the presidential election, according to the law, it is impossible to hold early elections. What happens after the elections depends on the political configuration, on what the parliamentary parties will want,” Sandu said. It should be noted, the day before, the Shor party and the Dignity and Truth Platform stated their readiness to vote for the resignation of the Chicu government. Earlier, the same initiative was put forward by Pro Moldova.
