Prime Minister Ion Chicu called MP Andrian Candu "the billion theft’s architect." The head of the Cabinet published on his Facebook page a request from the Pro Moldova parliamentary group demanding for a report on government activities. “While I am prime minister, the Moldovan government will not report to the billion’s thief!” Candu was one of the billion theft’s architects in the fall of 2014. Reporting to such a person means offending the whole country,” Chicu wrote. In addition, the prime minister said that he was confident that “the General Prosecutor’s Office current leadership, in cooperation with the competent authorities of Latvia (we have already agreed with to form a joint team to investigate this crime against the people of Moldova), will bring to justice the billion’s thieves.” At the same time, the head of the Pro Moldova parliamentary group, Andrian Candu, wrote on his Facebook page: “While the Dodon government has not been able to destroy the Constitution’s and institutions’ of this state remnants, the Prime Minister is obliged to submit a report to the deputies when asked about it”.
