On May 26, Oxana Greceanii, plenipotentiary representative of the Moldovan Government in the Eurasian Economic Commission, participated in a meeting of the EEC Board for the first time. According to the Eurasian Economic Commission, before the meeting, director of the protocol and organizational support department of the EEC Daniar Turusbekov met with Oxana Greceanii, who handed a copy of the letter from the Prime Minister of Moldova Ion Chicu to the EEC Board chairman, Mikhail Myasnikovich, on vesting her with authorities, noi.md reports. “I am sure that this appointment will promote further comprehensive cooperation development between the Republic of Moldova, the Eurasian Economic Commission and the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union,” Ion Chicu emphasized in the letter. Mikhail Myasnikovich greeted Oxana Greceanii at a meeting of the EEC Board, wishing her success in this responsible post. "It is very important for us to participate in the meetings, especially considering the fact that Moldova is the first observer state at the EAEU. We hope that we will be a good example for other countries to follow,” Oxana Greceanii said. The status of an observer state at the EAEU was granted to the Republic of Moldova on May 14, 2018 by the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. Pursuant to the regulation on the observer status at the EAEU approved by the Decision of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council No.8 dated May 14, 2018, the government of a state that has received the observer status at the Union assigns to the Commission's place of residence a person permanently authorized to maintain regular cooperation with the Commission and its bodies. The representative contributes to establishing and maintaining regular contacts between the relevant executive authorities of the observer state and the Commission on trade and economic cooperation development, technical, customs, sanitary and phytosanitary regulation, other issues within the scope of the Commission, and also promotes dialogue and cooperation in the fields of mutual interest to the observer State and Member States. In addition, the representative, the staff of his office and other representatives of the observer state are entitled to participate, upon invitation, in meetings of Commission's advisory bodies, as well as in meetings of the Board of the Commission and the Council of the Commission without the right to vote. Invitations are sent to the observer state for all meetings, with the exception of meetings on issues that are declared closed at the request of a member of the Board of the Commission and (or) a member state.
