The video conversation between Russian and French presidents may be focused on security issues, including the situation in eastern Ukraine, in Libya and Iran, the press service said. French President Emmanuel Macron and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin will hold a video conference on June 26 as part of the strategic Franco-Russian dialogue. This was announced on Wednesday, June 24, by the Elysee Palace press service. According to the message, discussion will be focused on security issues, including the situation in eastern Ukraine, in Libya and Iran. “Further progress is needed on the crisis agenda, especially in Ukraine,” the press service said. The Kremlin has not yet commented on the information about the talks. Macron had earlier called on Europe to reconsider its strategic partnership with Russia, saying that the recent years’s policies in relation to Moscow have failed, Reuters recalls. On June 2, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister announced negotiations in the “Normandy format”.
