MP from the Party of Socialists (PSRM) Corneliu Furculita said on June 30 that he had contacted the Prosecutor General’s Office about his former fellow colleague Stefan Gatcan, who today joined the Pro Moldova party. Furculisa also said that he had informed law enforcement agencies about other attempts to bribe socialists deputies.
“I filed a complaint with the prosecutor’s office, in which I informed about the bribery of deputy Stefan Gatcan. In the complaint, I also listed other cases of attempts to bribe deputies from the PSRM faction. On the advice of prosecutors, in order to maintain the confidentiality of the investigation, I will not publish the contents of my appeal to the prosecutor’s office so far. Like everyone else, I hope that law enforcement officials will bring to justice both those who bribe deputies with millions of dollars and the deputy who sold the mandate. I repeat, Stefan Gatcan must abandon the deputy seat received by the work and efforts of the PSRM team,” wrote Furculita.
Recall that on June 30, the PSRM deputy Stefan Gatcan announced his withdrawal from the Socialist faction and joining the Pro Moldova party. At the same time, he noted that “he is deeply impressed by the courage and selflessness with which the new political party Pro Moldova is fighting for the interests of citizens” and criticized the PSRM.
