According to the President, money is needed to support economic agents and Moldovan population during this difficult period. On Wednesday, Igor Dodon wrote on his Facebook page that during his working visit to Moscow he met with the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the development of trade and economic relations with the Republic of Moldova, Dmitry Kozak. “We discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral relations between our countries. In particular, we agreed that the next meeting of the Moldovan-Russian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation will take place in Chisinau in October this year, where a number of important bilateral agreements are planned to be signed,” Dodon noted. According to him, parties separately touched upon the issue of providing the Russian € 200 million loan aimed at supporting economic agents and Moldovan population in this difficult period. “We agreed that in the coming days, negotiations will be held between representatives of the Governments of the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation,” the head of state informed. He also added that the meeting showed good dynamics as to Moldovan goods exporting to the Russian market after the Russian government extended the period of duty-free import of a number of leading agro-industrial goods, which gave Moldovan producers the opportunity to save significant funds. “In this context, we discussed with the Russian side issuing transit permits for Moldovan goods to Russia through the territory of Ukraine (permissions). The relevant specialized departments were instructed to resolve this issue as soon as possible on mutually beneficial terms,” the president wrote. Igor Dodon stated he reached agreement so that in the near future it will be worked out the possibility of the Russian side to gratuitously provide diesel fuel humanitarian aid (several tens of thousands of tons) to support Moldovan agricultural producers most affected by long lasting drought.
