The embassies of France, Poland and Sweden in Moldova expressed their support for the head of the EU delegation Peter Michalko, who criticized on the air of one of the TV programs the Moldovan law enforcement agencies for delaying the trial of the Shor party leader Ilan Shor. After the formation representatives protested against “Michalko's interference with Moldova’s internal affairs and justice administration,” the diplomatic missions of the European countries recalled that Moldova had pledged to complete the billion theft investigation and punish those responsible. “Moldova has committed itself to the EU to ensure a prompt billion theft investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice,” the French embassy recalled. The Swedish Embassy also supported the French one. “Sweden expects that Moldova fully fulfills its obligations to citizens and the European Union,” the diplomat noted. The Polish embassy also stated that they were in full solidarity with Michalko. “Moldova has committed itself to the EU to ensure an impartial and complete investigation of the 2014-2015 banking fraud, so that the alleged criminals are brought to justice as soon as possible, including in the framework of the proceedings before the Court of Appeal. Poland supports fulfilling these obligations for the welfare and prosperity of the people of Moldova - a country associated with the EU and an important player in the Eastern Partnership,” the embassy reiterated. Recall that earlier Michalko spoke on the air of one of the TV programs about the delay in Ilan Shor’s trial. “For how long are we to watch the constant Shor’s trial postponement. As far as I remember, it was again postponed until September. Such a delay undermines confidence in the judicial system and casts doubt on work effectiveness of the state's law enforcement agencies,” on July 31, on the air of RTR Moldova Peter Michalko said. A few days later, on August 6, representatives of the Shor party came to the office of the EU Delegation in Chisinau to protest against the “the head of the EU delegation Peter Michalko interfering in Moldova’s internal affairs and in justice administration” and demanded that he be removed from the post of head of the EU delegation. After that, on his Facebook page Michalko published links to the Kroll company reports, links that prove the deputy Ilan Shor and his companies involvement in the billion theft. In response, the deputy from the Shor party, Denis Ulanov, said that Kroll was fiction and called Michalko “a lawyer for the current government”.
