According to Prime Minister Ion Chicu, any protests always hit the country very hard. He stated this on the REN-Moldova TV channel. “Let’s recall the recent story of 2009, April 7, when the country was destroyed. How did we pay? Over the next 10 years, we paid with the loss of the airport, a lost billion stolen by the so-called pro-European forces. No one has been punished since then,” the head of the Moldovan Cabinet noted, enews.md reports. Chicu also clarified that he does not believe that something good happened to the country in 2009, so he “hopes for the wisdom of the population, for the responsibility of those politicians who want to return this instability now.” The prime minister said that the country’s authorities had invited international observers to make sure that the elections are fair. “It is very important for everyone to have confidence that the elections will be democratic, free, and in accordance with international standards,” he said. Chicu assured that the state structures will trace those “guests” who come to Moldova a month and a half before the elections, “They are the authors of color revolutions, this is their business. We will not allow them in.”
