The DA Platform chairman, Andrei Nastase, gave an interview to the Romanian media, expressing concerns about possible fraud in the November 1, presidential elections.
“Anyway, we should all be held accountable and understand that Igor Dodon’s victory maintains the status quo on the eastern border of the European Union, which will exponentially increase Romania’s and European Union’s spending on security in this region. But I entered this race to win for the sake of the people of my country and so it will happen, ” in an interview with psnews.ro Nastase said
At the same time, the DA Platform leader expressed concerns about the cancellation of the observer mission from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe that was supposed to arrive in Moldova. The mission had to be canceled due to coronavirus pandemic.
“We do not know the decision the OSCE will take, but my duty is to sound the alarm. Europe and civilized world must not allow November 1, elections falsification. Anyway, I want it to be known in Bucharest and Brussels and everywhere on earth that we, the DA Platform, will defend Moldova’s people just, honest and brave voices. This is our right to democracy and we are not going to lose it,” Nastase added.
Presidential elections will take place on November 1, 2020. Eight candidates are running for the post of head of state.
