Discussions focused on the current framework of bilateral relations, including priority topics such as the second round of the presidential elections held on 15 November. The Prime Minister noted the government continues paying attention to the Action Plan for 2020-2023 implementation and the achievement of the country's development goals identified in the national strategy. As a priority, the Cabinet of Ministers will continue measures to develop a sustainable and inclusive economy through infrastructure modernization. Actions to ensure the health of citizens in the context of the epidemiological situation remain a priority as well. “One of the main tasks remains continuation of investments in infrastructure projects, in construction of water pipelines, the industrialization of the country, which will ensure the development of the economy and improve the living standards of citizens,” the prime minister said. At the same time, Ion Chicu informed about the progress in the process of concluding a new program with the International Monetary Fund. For his part, the US Ambassador urged the government to continue its efforts to implement reforms aimed at improving the living standards of the population. Thus, the diplomat assured that the United States is a long-term partner of the Republic.
