Moldova’s President-elect Maia Sandu believes that in the near future she will be able to dissolve the parliament, moreover, by legal means. She stated this in an interview with Evropeyskaya Pravda, noting that “she cannot dissolve the parliament of her own free will - it is necessary to find a way to early elections,” infotag.md reports. “People should get the right to elect a new parliament, because the current one shows misconduct. We have deputies who have already switched parties thrice, although the parliament was elected only last year. This is a sign of political corruption,” Sandu said. At the same time, according to her, “it is necessary to abide by the Constitution, which provides two reasons for the dissolution of parliament (failure to pass laws within three months or to approve a new government within 45 days). “I am confident that in the near future these norms will give me the opportunity to dissolve the parliament, and new elections will take place in Moldova,” the president-elect stressed.
