The leader of the DA Platform, Andrei Nastase, said that he was not going to leave the political arena, because he had not completed what he was about to do. According to Nastase, he is now building up his team and preparing for the parliamentary elections, be it early or regular elections, tvrmoldova.md reports. The politician described Maia Sandu’s result in the second round of the presidential elections as a victory of the pro-European forces and a vote of no confidence in the incumbent President Igor Dodon. “We also have to take into account the situation, it was not easy, people cast their voices in one direction. This is a victory of the democratic forces, to which the DA Platform has also put its efforts. What we didn’t succeed in 2016, we succeeded in 2020. We got rid of Plahotniuc and Dodon,” Nastase said. Andrei Nastase admitted that the result obtained in the first round of elections was below his expectations, but noted that he would not give up and would prepare the party for the parliamentary elections. He also ruled out the scenario of his departure from politics and resignation from the post of a party leader. “I am not quitting politics because I have not done what I was about to do,” the DA Platform Chair said. In the first round of the presidential election, Andrei Năstase won only 3.2% of the vote. In the second round, he supported Maia Sandu.
