The vote of no confidence in the activities of Interior Minister Pavel Voicu was approved by the Commission on National Security, Defense and Public Order. Five MPs voted to approve the opinion of the Commission in support of the vote of no confidence, tv8.md reported. Recall, the parliamentary factions of the Platform DA and PDS put forward a vote of no confidence in the activities of the Minister of Internal Affairs at the plenary session on November 19. The deputies noted that this vote does not imply Voicu’s resignation, but represents a position in relation to the policy of the ministry. As grounds for this vote of no confidence served cases of Moldovan citizens’ abduction on the left bank of the Dniester. The MPs stressed that the purpose of this vote is to receive a report on the fight against the Transdniestrian paramilitaries, to develop a plan to combat crime and maintain public order, as well as to present explanations in parliament from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
