Britain Stated Brexit Talks Are Deadlocked

London and the EU will not agree on a trade agreement to avoid a crisis when Britain leaves the EU. Trade negotiations between London and Brussels are still at an impasse. This announced the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Michael Gove, Reuters reported. In particular, the parties cannot agree on fisheries, management rules and dispute resolution. "The EU still wants to take over the lion's share of the fishing in our waters - which is just not fair given that we are leaving the EU," Gove said. The parties are trying to negotiate a trade agreement to avoid a crisis when Britain finally leaves the EU in four weeks. "The EU still wants us to be tied to their way of doing business. The EU now reserves the right, in the event of any disputes, to impose some really tough restrictions on us, and we do not think that is fair," the minister said. The EU previously stated that it does not expect an agreement with London to be concluded before the leaders' summit on December 10. The trade agreement must be approved by the UK Parliament and the European Parliament. Earlier, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that London will prepare for a no trade deal with the EU scenario after the Brexit transition period.
