Maia Sandu said, speaking at the protest in front of the parliament building. At the same time, at the ongoing parliamentary meeting, the PAS and Platform DA factions’ representatives blocked the parliament rostrum, demanding that bills on the approval of the state budget, fiscal policy, as well as the initiative to reassign the Information and Security Service be removed from the agenda. Several thousand people gathered in front of the parliament building demanding the resignation of the parliament and holding early parliamentary elections. Special police units have been pulled up to the parliament building and traffic along the central avenue of Chisinau got blocked. The protest is being held at the call of the President-elect Maia Sandu, who on the eve addressed the people with an appeal to protest in connection with Dodon and Shor’s attempt to "steal the election results." She said that one of the indicators of Dodon's intentions to prevent changes in the country is the bill that PSRM and the Shor party deputies introduced on Wednesday; the bill on removing the Information and Security Service from president’s subordination and re-subordinate it to Parliament. Sandu believes that in this way she is deprived of the opportunity to start the fight against corruption in all spheres of government. The leader of the non-parliamentary Our Party, Renato Usatii, also appealed to support the protest. He expressed confidence that this protest will be the beginning of the end for the scoundrel regime. “I think there will be more such protests,” Usatii said.
