We are talking about visa restrictions introduction on Chinese officials who “participated in malicious actions in order to persuade to cooperate and coerce those who oppose Beijing’s policies.”

The US authorities have imposed visa restrictions on a number of Chinese officials, including members of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), in connection with Washington’s alleged “coercive activities.” So informed the statement of the US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo, released on Friday, December 4.

“Today, using my powers under the Immigration and Citizenship Law, I impose visa restrictions on officials of the PRC and the CPC and persons actively participating in the activities of the United Front (Central Committee of the CPC), who resorted or threatened with physical violence, abduction and disclosure of confidential information, espionage, sabotage, or malicious interference in internal political affairs, academic freedom, personal life, or business activities. These malicious acts were intended to coerce and force local leaders, overseas Chinese communities, academia, and others. civil society groups in the United States and elsewhere support the CCP’s authoritarian narrative and political preferences,” Pompeo said.

We are talking about visa restrictions introduction on Chinese officials who “participated in malicious acts in order to persuade to cooperate and coerce those who oppose Beijing’s policies,” Pompeo explained on Twitter.

In a written statement, he added that he “will continue to impose this kind of visa restrictions to make it clear that those who are held responsible for actions contrary to rules-based international order are not welcome” in America.

“The United States calls on the PRC to stop using coercive and intimidating tactics to suppress free speech,” Pompeo said.

According to him, the department of the United Front (CPC Central Committee) “finances and supports foreign organizations that are engaged in the dissemination of propaganda, coercion and intimidation of those who oppose Beijing’s policies.”

Earlier, the US intelligence services said that China is looking for ways to access the Joe Biden administration. Now counterintelligence agents are conducting explanatory work among potential employees of the administration of the future US president.
