Nikol Pashinyan suggested “parliamentary and interested forces” to hold early parliamentary elections in 2021.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated he was ready to resign if the people decided so. Early parliamentary elections must be held, he wrote on his Facebook page on Friday, December 25.

I am ready to leave the post of prime minister if a popular decision. I can leave the post of prime minister only if the people decide so, – he wrote.

Pashinyan stressed he was ready to continue Armenian leadership “in these difficult times in case the people’s confidence is restored.”

“There is only one way to get an answer to all these questions – to hold early parliamentary elections,” Pashinyan added.

The prime minister proposed to the “parliamentary and interested forces” to hold early parliamentary elections in 2021.

Earlier it was reported that on December 22, protests against the government resumed in Yerevan. The opposition has declared a nationwide strike.

It was reported as well that protesters against Nikol Pashinyan blocked government buildings and set up tents in Republic Square.
