The G7 meeting is to take place in Cornwall in the south-west of England on June 11-13, the British Prime Minister said. Great Britain announced plans to hold a summit of the Group of Seven (G7) on June 11-13 with the personal participation of the leaders of states. This statement was made on Saturday, January 16, by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Thus, it will be the first time in nearly two years that the leaders of the seven major global economies will communicate face to face. Previously, this was hampered by a pandemic. The forum is expected to be held at Carbis Bay in Cornwall in the southwest of England. The summit is to be attended by Joe Biden, who by that time will have held the presidency of the United States for about six months. In addition, the G7meeting will be the last in this format for Angela Merkel as German Chancellor. Pandemic recovery will be the main topic of discussion In a statement, British Prime Minister Johnson has already noted that he intends to use the rotating presidency of London to facilitate the global recovery from the pandemic. "Coronavirus is doubtless the most destructive force we have seen for generations and the greatest test of the modern world order we have experienced," the head of the British government believes. He added that the recovery process will involve "a spirit of openness to create a better future." The leaders of Australia, India and South Korea will also take part in the summit as guests at Boris Johnson's invitation. The G7 includes Germany, Britain, Italy, Canada, the United States, France and Japan. In 2020, the G7 meeting was supposed to take place at the country residence of the President of the United States in Camp David, but due to the pandemic it was first postponed until the fall, and then canceled by Donald Trump. The 2019 meeting took place in Biarritz, France.
