Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi and Russian Ambassador to Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov discussed the provision of the Russian coronavirus vaccine. Ciocoi said that the country will primarily use vaccines approved by the World Health Organization and the world community. As noted in the press service of the government, Ciocoi and Vasnetsov discussed supplies of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V to Moldova. Acting Prime Minister said at the meeting that Moldova will use a wide range of vaccines. But the priority will be given to vaccines approved by the World Health Organization and the international community. At the same time, Ciocoi welcomed recent international evaluations of the Sputnik V vaccine. It should be noted, as RIA Novosti reported the day before, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) has completed consulting the developer of the Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V, and now Russia can apply to register the vaccine on the EU market. The EMA spokesman said that the period for obtaining approval for the Russian vaccine for the EU market from the EMA could be discussed after receiving such an application. In addition, according to the source, WHO said it expects Sputnik V to be among the vaccines distributed under the COVAX program when the vaccine is registered with the organization. Recall that on February 5, Igor Dodon said that the documents for obtaining the Russian vaccine are at the Agency for Medicines and are now awaiting approval from the Ministry of Health. Earlier, acting Minister of Health, State Secretary of the Ministry of Health Tatiana Zatic said on TV that the Russian authorities have applied to the Ministry of Health regarding the coronavirus vaccine supply to Moldova. However, the Ministry of Health noted that Moldova has not yet received documents on the Sputnik V vaccine registration from Russia.
