The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova today actually formalized a constitutional coup, changing its own February 23, 2021, position and many others, which clearly indicate the decisive role of the parliamentary majority. Today's decision transforms the Republic of Moldova from a parliamentary into a presidential one, when the last word is not with the highest legislative body, but with the head of state. Chairman of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon writes about this in his Telegram channel, aif.md reports. “Unfortunately, today's decision will have very serious legal and constitutional consequences, as well as for ordinary citizens. The Socialist Party will hold a meeting of the governing bodies tomorrow to jointly determine the next steps. At the same time, we remain committed to our position: those who dissolve parliament and push the country into the election campaign must take responsibility for the lives of thousands of people who will inevitably die from the epidemic”, he emphasized. Recall, today the Constitutional Court recognized the constitutional decree of Maia Sandu nominating Igor Grosu for the post of prime minister.
