President Maia Sandu believes it is necessary to set in motion the mechanism for organizing early elections as soon as possible, so that voting could be held when the epidemiological situation allows it. The head of state talked about this on the air of a program on TV8, and noted that summer is the most suitable time for. At the same time, Sandu noted that the parliamentary elections can always be postponed if the epidemiological situation in the country worsens. “If you look at the forecasts of international organizations, for example, the World Health Organization, then in the summer there should be a reduction in the number of infection cases. After that, in the fall, unfortunately, the indicators might rise again, because there is seasonal virus,” Sandu said. The President noted that the most dangerous time for organizing mass voting is spring, especially April. “You have to be very careful. Nobody says that if there are a lot of infections, the elections will still take place. The mechanism must be set in motion and elections can be organized any time. Postponed if bad situation. We cannot let the situation get worse,” she added. Recall, after the Constitutional Court recognized Sandu's decree nominating Igor Grosu as a candidate for the post of prime minister, the latter must submit his team and program to parliament. If MPs reject Grosu's proposal, parliament will be dissolved and early parliamentary elections announced.
