The head of the press service of the European Commission for Foreign Policy and Security, Peter Stano, called the decision of the Constitutional Court (CC) of Moldova on the existence of circumstances for the dissolution of parliament as a way out of the protracted institutional crisis. Stano tweeted this on April 19. “Last week's decision of the Constitutional Court paved a clear way out of the protracted institutional crisis. The EU expects all political actors to respect it. Attacks against the court and diplomats are unacceptable, they distract from the need for real reforms,” Stano wrote. Recall the Constitutional Court on April 15 considered President Maia Sandu's request, in which she asked the court to establish the circumstances that allow the parliament to be dissolved. The court ruled that parliament really needed to be dissolved. The court ruled that the reason for the dissolution of parliament was the impossibility for a new government to be formed. The Socialist Party announced that it will put forward a draft parliamentary decree on the usurpation of power by the Constitutional Court "in favor of the political interests of president" Maia Sandu. It should be noted that the decision taken by the Constitutional Court on April 15 at the request of President Maia Sandu was welcomed by only one parliamentary party - Action and Solidarity (PAS).
