The presidents of the United States and Russia will discuss important issues, but one should not expect a restart of relations between the countries, says Peskov. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov voiced expectations from the meeting of Vladimir Putin with his American counterpart Joe Biden, which will take place on June 16 in Geneva, TASS reports on Wednesday, May 26. In particular, Moscow does not expect a restart of relations between the countries. "It is hardly possible to expect that in the course of one, the first meeting it will be possible to reach an understanding on the issues of deep disagreement. But at the same time, it would be wrong to belittle the significance of this meeting," he said. It is also not planned to sign any documents after the meeting. According to Peskov, the meeting will touch upon issues important for the whole world, including strategic stability and armaments. Putin himself never raises the issue of sanctions in negotiations, Peskov said when asked whether this topic will be on the agenda of a meeting with Biden. The White House called the upcoming meeting of the presidents vital for the interests of the United States.
